Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT) is a private self-financed institution run by Bosco Technical Training Society, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.

The Right to Information Act, 2005, applies directly only to a “Public Authority” under Section 2(h) of the RTI Act. Since DBIT is a private, self-financed affiliated college, it may not independently fall within the definition of a Public Authority unless it is substantially financed by the Government.

However, since the institute is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and regulated by the All India Council for Technical Education, information relating to the institute that is available with these statutory authorities can be sought through RTI from those authorities.
