About

Dr. Shruti Chopra is Associate Professor in the Department of Management and Commerce at Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Delhi, with over twelve years of interdisciplinary academic experience spanning Media and Communication Studies, Public Policy, Technology and Innovation Studies, and Digital Marketing. She holds a Ph.D. and M.Phil. from the Centre for Studies in Science Policy, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, where her doctoral research examined the changing Indian telecom innovation system through Technology Futures Analysis, and an M.A. in Media Governance from Jamia Millia Islamia, where she was awarded the gold medal.



She is currently Principal Investigator of an ICSSR-sponsored short-term project on the Effectiveness of Institution Innovation Councils in shaping interdisciplinary Innovations in Public Universities of Delhi, and has previously served as Research Associate-II at JNU Centre for the Study of Law and Governance on a DSIR-funded project on Women and Technology: STI Investments and Policy Foresights for Economic and Social Empowerment of Women in Rajasthan, and on an ICSSR-funded project examining Yakshagana and Intellectual Property Rights. Her scholarly output includes peer-reviewed publications in Scopus-indexed and Web of Science journals, including the Journal of Intellectual Property Rights and Legal Issues in the Digital Age (HSE University, Russia); selected works include:

Her research interests lie at the intersection of foresight analysis, ICT for development, generative AI and copyright, and traditional knowledge protection. A UGC NET / JRF qualifier with a 100-percentile score, she is a recipient of the Ford Foundation scholarship and has served as an expert panelist on the DD Urdu programme Yeh Hai India on Digital India. She is on the Editorial Board of Legal Issues in Digital Age (HSE University, Russia) and was nominated as an external committee member at JNU Centre for Studies in Science Policy.
